1987 Pontiac Trans Am
Info on the motor
Well at 157k on the clock, and the engine not running so hot, I opted to rebuild it. As I was taking it apart I found out that someone had rebuilt it before me. It was bored +.030 which makes the original 305 a whopping 310 cu. in. Woohoo!

The previous rebuilder also took out the roller cam and lifter and replace it with a hyd flat tappet, so I decided to keep that. In it now is a Comp Cams 12-246-3, along with a completely rebuilt (read re-ringed and new bearings/gaskets) bottom end. Kept the stock heads and manifolds though. She'll definately pull better than she did before, but this was my first rebuild ever so I decided to keep it simple. I dropped a whole $400 into the rebuild and what do you know it even runs!

Going together now...
No heads... One head on Both heads!

Here is the finished project!
Here it is all cleaned up and ready to install Another... And another...

Some shots in the car...
Engine and tranny together again... In the car Another shot in the car
