1987 Pontiac Trans Am
My first project car
Well, after I fell in love with the 4th generation of these birds, I stumbled upon a good deal on this 3rd gen version. November 2, 2001 I brought this one home with a half running engine, a slipping tranny, and some pretty heavy front end damage. The pages that you see here are my efforts in bringing this car back to life for use as my daily driver (so yea, pretty much stock and factory original, for the most part anyways)

Well here it is *almost* done. I have since installed the spoiler though, so it's complete... I will have pics up here shortly! Not too shabby for my first paint job eh? :-) 09/09/2002

Primer on finally! 08/11/2002
See "First Paint Job" for more pics...
Got the paint part done 08/24/2002. Now I just have to put it back together again.

New News!
September 12, 2002 - Well finally got all the buffing/wet sanding done last weekend. The spolier and such is back on the car and it's now on the road! Drives/runs pretty good actually (though lacking in the power side, but what do you want from a 305? :-)
September 04, 2002 - Damnit it's a long way around that car with a peice of 1500 paper, and wet-sanding/buffing. Whew. Two more panels left (right rear quarter, and right door) and the hood, then it will be ALL DONE! Well the buffing part anyways. I must say, it's looking pretty glassy right now though. :-)
August 30, 2002 - Well... Got half of the WeatherStripping. The other half is on back-order for a while. When it comes in though, I'll have the rest of the mess put back together, so then I can simply put it on and go!
August 24, 2002 - Got it all painted. All the parts and the body are now done. Now comes the part where I put it all back together again!
August 18, 2002 - Finally sprayed the silver color coat for the GFX and cleared them... Wow what a looker. No pics yet though. Not until it's all done. It'll be a few more days.
August 13, 2002 - Well... It actually does look like a car again. Almost. The doors and fenders are on the car as well as the front bumper cover, and every thing is covered in primer. 5 coats mind you, 5! Maybe I'm going a little overboard with it, but at least it will look good when I'm done right? Yea, 5 coats with a 2 hours wet sanding job in between each one. It's pretty well flat now though, so I think the 5th time was the charm ;-)
August 09, 2002 - Got the door jambs, edges of doors and edges of fenders all painted and cleared. Going to install the doors and fenders tomorrow so that I can shoot the car as a whole (except the hood, that will be seperate!) THERE WILL BE PICS COMING SOON!!!
August 06, 2002 - Bought all my paint 'n' stuff that goes with it. Gonna be shooting the car this coming weekend (I took some days off to give me more time).

Adlib...
So what the car has been sitting on jack stands for 9 months. A lot of things needed fixing and I haven't had the time or money lately to work with. I figure another month and she'll be rolling again (meaning on the road of course.)

And no, that's not really primer on the front suspension. Just left-over dust from when my father painted his Lebaron convertible in the garage last month. I just haven't cleaned it all up yet.
