The Restoration Project
Feb 01, 2005 - Well I finally got my partners talked into doing some work to the old bird. I divided the area of work in 4 sections:

  • Exterior - Both cosmetic and structural changes to the airframe as you would see it from the outside
  • Interior - Purely cosmetic and creature comfort driven (mostly for my large frame)
  • Engine - Cosmetic and reliability changes to be made here
  • Intruments - I think we all know what this one is all about
The items described in the aforementioned sections can be found in the squawk list page in greater detail. The resoration will proceed in phases, with the first, Exterior, beginning now and continuing until a final paint job around the April-May of 2005 timeframe. This site will detail the changes made and costs involved on the appropriate page, which when created, will be found in the left navigation pane of this site.

Here is a general idea of what the finished airplane might look like when we are done... This image is borrowed from the cessna175.org... Of course, if someone over there, or the owner has a problem with me posting the image on my site, please email me with the link below and I'll take it down.

I'm partial to the second scheme myself... Perhaps with some different colors, but I like the overall look. We'll see what the partners have to say about that over then next couple weeks.

Stay tuned as there is much more to come later!
